IKEA's HDTV..

Believe it or not but the Scandinavian store Ikea will be selling its very own Hdtv... According to different articles I read these Hdtvs will be "customizable" to match your Ikea furniture. The base unit comes with a "smart" 1080p LED TV, Blu-ray player, and 2.1 virtual surround system that includes a wireless subwoofer that can be positioned anywhere in the room. You'll then be able to customize the TV size and cabinetry and even change the color of the frame for the TV. Prices are expected to start at about $950 for an entry-level unit and TVs will range in size from 26 to 46 inches, which may not be quite big enough for some folks --

How to shop for an HDTV...

......With so many different manufacturers out there selling HDTVS, what to buy, what to buy.. I found this interesting article on the HD Guru site and they seem to think the same I do when shopping for TVs' any other electronics or any "big" purchase.. I know when I shop for something, specially something that will cost more than $500.00, I shop, shop till I drop.. Call me "cheapish" but the way I see it is the more options they put on any electronic device the more expensive and the more things can go wrong with..Plus most of us do not use any of these "extras" they put on these gadgets....
Sony & how the mighty have fallen........

Just about 10 -11 years ago Sony was on top of the electronic world.. It was worth just about $200 Billion.. Now in 2012 it is only worth about $20 billion. Has been reported that due to all these losses they will be selling a few of their divisions, consolidating others and laying off about 6-7% of their workforce..Which would equal about 10,000 employees.. While the Japanese perfected the US invention of the liquid crystal technology, now the Koreans are at the top of the heap...
Phony LCD HDTV Refresh Rates...Beware!!!!!!!

I just read this most interesting article on what the TV makers are doing lately. This is regarding refresh rates on their HDTV product lines. in my opinion it sounds like they are all cutting corners and coming up with these new "generic" terms regarding how their TVs react with fast motion refresh capabilities.. Instead of using the actual refresh rates they are using different technologies that use cheaper components and are cheaper to use....here are some samples of terms used..Sony uses "Clear Motion Rate" Samsung uses “Clear Motion Rate 120" When true refresh rate is 60HZ...See article for more... .Unfortunately we

After showcasing both the 4K and the OLEDS at the 2012 CES show in Vegas. It's now clear who won that battle. OLEDS are a technology of their own while 4Ks are just an improvement. OLEDS were the hit of the show and with the LG OLED version winning the "Best of Award" of the show.. Also pricing will be another reason
